Hear me out. Offering amnesty is the best plan for many reasons. Step 1: set a deadline for EVERY undocumented person to obtain official documentation of temporary residency.
Anyone discovered to be living here after that date without documentation gets an instant deportation.
Step 2: Run a background check on every person who got their temporary residency. If the only crime they have committed is crossing the border then offer them a path to citizenship. If they have committed other crimes then instant deportation.
Step 3: Set clear rules and steps that they can follow to obtain citizenship. Follow them or be deported.

You will need to explain at the very beginning that uncomfortable things that look like "racial profiling" may be going on for a long time as people may be stopped and asked to show their documentation but it is the only way to help as many of them stay and become citizens as possible. It is the quickest way to separate the criminal element from the good people who are here to work for a better life.

There are many reasons this is a good idea. I know the current administration is all about recruiting the best and the brightest as immigrants and I think that is fine but it is also important to let others in. The USA was built by immigrants and I'm not talking about the ones with PhDs. Many of the families who have come here want to work hard and be successful. I encounter some of these people through my work. I see parents who have minimal education but are holding down multiple jobs to support their family. Often they are paying taxes using a bogus SSN or a TIN because they are truly trying to pay their way. They are often taken advantage of by employers.
President Trump is constantly bragging about making the USA self reliant and bringing manufacturing jobs back to the USA. Lots of these people have a strong work ethic. Even if the parents come here with minimal education, the next generation of their family will be better educated. Those children will be raised by working parents and can also become productive members of society.
90% of the Mexican population is Christian. These people have values that align more with the Republican party anyway.
Get this done in the next 4 years and get the folks who are truly here in search of the American dream documented and on a path to citizenship and you will build an enormous, loyal voter base.
The Democrats trucked them in here to and let them stay undocumented so they could live in fear, work for slave wages and be used to pad the census and voter rolls.
The Republicans have 4 years to flip the script. Do right by these people and the Dems are done.

Who is "getting owned"? Don't be such an idiot. There is not a "news" article published anymore that doesn't have spin. I have been following the research on the AMOC for years. I went to college in the 80s and 90s and it was definitely NOT a girl power environment. As a woman in a STEM field I had to be best in the class to not be kicked around. On one hand it taught me to work hard but the constant obstacles were ridiculous. I feel like my boys have it worse than I did now for the same dumb reason. Women who came before me took a lot of abuse to pave the road for me. The response to that should have never been to make modern men suffer for the sins of their forefathers. It is amazing to me how jealous, petty and vindictive people can be.
