You really typed all of that and thought it made sense, huh? Yes, the federal government is the largest employer and employs around ONE PERCENT OF THE US POPULATION. That doesn’t include contractors but absolutely includes personnel like postal workers, food inspectors, air traffic controllers, military members, etc. With the exception of our active duty and reserve military, the U.S. govt is the only employer with an all-US citizen workforce.

Prior to last January, many agencies were actually understaffed. Now they are more understaffed. I’m convinced that people who make assumptions like the ones you made don’t actually know how much our government does…either that, or they’re ok with billionaires running our government way more than they do now.
