๐ธ DSX Engine @ x402 Hackathon โ Payments built into the Internet
We demoed DSX Engine, a truly decentralized dataspace connector by Blockchain Lab:UM, powered by x402.
x402 makes any HTTP request a native payment:
โข Pay-per-request and others
โข No accounts, no lock-in
โข Payments enforced in the data flow
Demo shows manual flow for clarity โ in reality it can be fully automated or fully manual.
๐ก Thatโs exactly why we created the DSX Engine.
With DSX Engine, we bridge these gaps through:
๐น Smart contract-based participant and connector discovery
๐น Decentralized identity via support for ETHR and European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) DID methods
๐น Verifiable Credentials (VCs) and Verifiable Presentations (VPs)
๐น A fully decentralized Clearing House, built on smart contracts and W3C standards
๐ค But why dataspaces?
Dataspaces aim to decentralize the data sharing process. This vision resonates deeply with our mission. Yet, what weโve observed is that current dataspace implementations still fall short in delivering full decentralization from a technical standpoint.

It is fully aligned with International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) and Gaia-X Association for Data and Cloud (@gaiax_aisbl) architectural principles.
๐ข Excited to share that weโve published a new paper in ICT Express titled โA Review on Building Blocks of Decentralized Artificial Intelligence.โ ๐ค

We identify key building blocks such as incentivization, registries, reputation systems, marketplaces, ontologies, discoverability, data, training, inference, ownership, governance, cryptography and privacy, and identity.
2/2) We also participated in an insightful workshop on cryptographic and identity standards, discussing the open challenges and hurdles projects face in the self-sovereign identity space. We explored potential next steps to drive progress in the critical areas.
1/2) This week, the @blockchainlabum team is attending the Devcon 7!
@vidkersic delivered a talk titled "Ethereum Citizen: Embracing Self-Sovereign Digital Identity," shedding light on the current use of decentralized identity and the most significant active challenges.
๐ We've successfully completed Gitcoin Grants Round 20! ๐
A massive thank you to everyone who supported us along the way. ๐
