Building and backing the inevitable crypto + public markets convergence

Words are only the foundation. Care lives in tone, timing, and delivery — the things text can't carry.

Our Managing Partner @carylyne's thoughts on @Newsweek on why the next era of AI companionship will be won by voice. It's the thesis behind @IhearaMurmur, a First-Person Voice platform we're proud to back.

the men are fictional. the feelings aren't 🤍

our founder @carylyne tells The Index why she built murmur for the women who've loved fictional characters for years, and never had anything made for them.

"i came for the fictional men" is how it always starts 👀

but you stay for the feeling of being known. for someone remembering the thing you'd forgotten you said.

six months of murmur. all of it because of you 💜

Accounting for the risks, DeFi is cheaper for the unbanked but more expensive for those with access to TradFi.

A lot more risk mitigation innovation and standards are needed to compress that risk premium.

The seductive interpretation of this market is that AI has made company-building easier.

In one sense, that is true. Small teams can build functional products quickly, launch fast, automate aggressively, and reach customers with a fraction of the labor once required.

But that is only half the story.

AI has made building easier. It has not made winning easier.

Big week for @ihearamurmur!

10,000 murmurs were generated within just over a month since their early beta launch.

Murmurs are short, first-person voice moments where fictional characters speak to you by name, remember what you've told them, and hyperpersonalize their care.

Their thesis, now in @Newsweek: loneliness isn't the crisis.

Lovelessness is — the daily kind of love that notices, remembers, and reaches you in a form you can feel.

Ten thousand murmurs is the weight of that gap — and the sound of it being answered.

Congratulations 💜

[Spencer Yang @spenceryang]

Loneliness is being alone. Lovelessness is being surrounded by people and still feeling emotionally unfed.

@carylyne on why the AI companions, romance games, and parasocial fandoms everyone mocks are filling a gap nobody wants to name.

One to three seconds. That's how long every voice assistant you've ever used takes to respond.

But the real gap should be 200 milliseconds. That's how long it takes a human friend to start responding when you stop talking.

@nvidia PersonaPlex did that.

VCs poured $1.4B into crypto companies in January - 14% more than last year.

The buy-and-hold DAT model is breaking.

Nearly 40% of crypto treasury companies now trade below net asset value, up from 15% in mid-October.

[BlockSpaceForce ▫️ @blockspaceforce]

@spenceryang's take on @cryptodotnews: The hype era is over. The business era begins. DATs must deploy capital productively: staking, running infrastructure, generating real revenue.
