@JackSillin The obs vs. model plot got me thinking... could the strong northerly winds over the Plains (displacing radiosondes to the south of the upper air station when they reach 500 hPa) account for some of the height differences?
@Alejand48698086@webberweather Successive ensemble runs are showing a stronger 500 hPa ridge over the western Atlantic. The circulation aloft around the ridge means a higher likelihood of the currently developing storms making landfall (I’m a student myself as well😁)
