In Hong Kong, maternity leave is not covered by the company unless you worked for the company at least…. I think, 3 months before getting pregnant.

Yes, you need to provide a slip from a doctor with estimated due date for this purpose.

But in HK you only get 12 or 14 weeks off. Not 6 months. So a company could require a worker to have been with the company for a year before covering maternity leave for example.
