@lynziekate Have you been to the Fort Worth Aviation Museum? I love aviation museums and I want to go next year when Im in DFW. I live in ga and we have the Museum of Aviation and it’s really cool. I’ve also been to the National Naval aviation museum in fl and saw the Blue Angels practice.
@celesteyay@favecicoria A lot of factors go into ROP. We try to make sure the baby isn’t getting too much oxygen, but the micro premies usually need a lot. Stevie Wonder had ROP from being born premature, it’s how he went blind.
@celesteyay@favecicoria Retinopathy of Prematurity. Premies need extra oxygen, oxygen causes blood vessels to dialate. Too much oxygen in the body can also cause oxygen toxicity and damage to some tissues. The immature vessels in the retina grow abnormally, and too much oxygen can increase this risk.
@DefiantLs Using your patient’s death for sympathy on the internet is narcissistic as hell. Yes, it’s sad when a patient dies. I’ve been through it many times in the NICU. It’s absolutely okay to cry and break down. Filming it for likes on social media is disgusting behavior.
@linkkling I don’t care if I sounded cringe I just wanted to ease the dad’s nerves some. It was a very traumatic experience for him but I’m glad I got to make him smile. He called the baby “six seven” the whole time they were in NICU. To top it all off, they were discharged on 6/7.
@linkkling At work there was a teen couple having a baby, it turned into a STAT c section and the baby came to the NICU intubated. The dad was at the bedside during the admission scared as hell. When we weighed the baby he was 6lb 7oz. I said “He’s six seven!” And the dad started smiling.
@regsully_@chelsea_janes I got sun poisoning last June at a Braves game where I was only in the sun for 2 hours. The rest of the time I was in the shade at the chop house. I wore sunscreen but it was so hot I think it just slid right off from the sweat. Now I only go to night games unless the UV is low.
