BLOODSPORT (1988) basically created the blueprint for a generation of tournament movies and fighting games. The Kumite, the rivalries, Bolo Yeung stealing every scene he’s in. So much of the genre spent the next few decades borrowing from it.
Rampage (1986) by Bally Midway flips the usual formula by making you the monster, smashing buildings, eating civilians, and surviving military attacks. Its simple chaos and three-player destruction made it one of the ultimate arcade crowd-pleasers.
