@hovah76 It’s something that I’ve noticed since she’s been in the league. She’s good at straight up defense. She is excellent at trap. But she handles screens like she is in junior high.
@EugeneREQUIEM5@SuperStarDOM92 Two reasons the Lynx beat the Fever that game. Indiana had only 6 points from the bench. And the Lynx only had 6 turnovers the whole game (the Fever had 14 which is league average).
@DayDreamThis There are 15 seconds left on the shot clock. Clark has her main defender beat with an open passing op to AB or Mo. KM can out rotate with AB to create a screen and an open 3. Again 15 seconds.
@donth8dakid@JDiz007 I wasn’t going to comment again, but you’re the one who said Clark guards the 3rd offensive option. Since when is the leading scorer on a team the 3rd option? You really don’t know ball.
@donth8dakid I just re-watched the game, focusing on who Clark was guarding. Most of her one on one was against Alisha Gray, who leads the Dream in scoring.
@donth8dakid I generally watch the WNBA from a defensive pov. There at least three guards on the Fever who are worse defenders. Clark’s plays trap schemes extrememely well. She gets lost in space on off screen action. The Fever overall play good pnr defense.
@hovah76@AaronPitmanPA Jordin Canada has had one game (in three) against the Fever where she was the reason the Dream won. Even then, she played outside the normal Dream schema.
In her senior year at Northwestern, Burton went against Iowa and Clark twice (home and home). The Wildcats beat the Hawkeyes at Carver, with Clark 1 for 8 from 3. Burton scored 25 and was a standout defensively. Northwestern lost the second game in OT.
Veronica Burton while under Stephanie White, defensive coach, couldn’t defend Caitlin Clark. CC went to basket on her every time! Sides was the Fever coach.
If you grew up in Chicago and watched the Cubs, you saw Sharon Dunston making these throws with regularity. More people across the country saw him make plays than saw Jeter play because of WGN.
@BaseballBros Iconic asf everyone was trying to do that when I was a kid. Just because people do it all the time now doesn’t mean jeter doing it didn’t make everyone now do it. Thats why it’s normal now because of this play simple.
@hovah76 Clark was a part of 2 world championships for the USA in FIBA U19, along with Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink, Rhyne Howard, and Aliyah Boston. She was the MVP in 2021.
