I just heard @ScottPresler say the truest thing I’ve heard today:
“The contempt that they treated me with, that’s the exact same contempt they have for you.”
And he is 100% right.
@LeaderJohnThune has contempt for WE THE PEOPLE.
He doesn’t believe he owes us respect.
He believes he is above us in every way.
@MrLeadslinger We recently moved to some acreage in a rural area, and discovered that Amazon uses FedEx to deliver packages to our new home. Some of those packages haven't arrived on time - in each case a day late. You'd think they'd want to do something about this before they go bankrupt.
@BuzzPatterson My first AF assignment was to Heidelberg AAF as a weather observer. I got to witness this same maneuver, followed immediately by a short field takeoff, during flight testing of these magnificent beasts. I'll never forget that.
One day, at the very edge of death,
if I could see my granddaughter running through the snow,
laughing without a care in the world,
that would be a beautiful ending.
I want to cross the finish line feeling that life had meaning.
That we were never truly alone.
That we were all part of a story still being written.
That happiness is not something we get,
but something we give.
That I lived like a man and stayed true to what I believed.
Maybe that's just self-satisfaction.
But self-satisfaction is far better than self-regret.
Even if my life is small,
I want to be grateful for the happiness that overflowed from my small cup.
Thank you.
And may happiness find you too.
I’ll take the trillionaire visionary who creates wealth for tens of millions of people, over the millionaire politicians who loot that wealth for themselves.
@visegrad24 Same was true of George Floyd. He died of a drug overdose, but Derek Chauvin, the police officer in that case, was still sent to prison for murder.
Today, we remember a legend.
On this day in history, Harambe would have celebrated another birthday. An icon that became part of internet history, American culture, and an entire generation’s timeline.
Tomorrow marks 10 years since we lost him. Ten years since the moment the world stopped scrolling and collectively mourned something bigger than a meme.
He became a symbol of loyalty, strength, chaos, unity, and the strange beauty of the internet bringing millions of people together for one cause: never forgetting Harambe.
Everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news. And somehow, a decade later, his legacy still lives on.
Gone, but never forgotten.
Rest easy to a true patriot. 🕊️🇺🇸

Forever in our hearts.
@kimmie_c_ When I was a kid our folks would take us out to eat about once a week, typically to a place like Duff's (buffet style place), Quincy's (steak house like Golden Corral), or grab pizza for a quick dinner at home. But it wasn't expected, and it was always considered a treat.
