A White Paper is coming THIS AUTUMN which is going to take a wrecking ball to incapacity benefits (LCW/LCWRA/ESA)

The government claims cutting disability benefits is about getting people into work.
But they haven't produced evidence backing this up.
Meanwhile, an FOI request reveals that these cuts would remove PIP from 281,000 of the 510,000 claimants currently in work #TakingThePIP
Everything about this bill is calculated for cruelty. It really makes me see red when clinical academics, faced with an avalanche of deliberately deadly policies, insist that what's needed is more evidence. This policy is not built on evidence; it can't be fought through evidence

The second reading of The Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill will be on Tuesday, 1st July 2025
This is when MPs will vote on disability benefit cuts
It’s vital you contact your MP and keep piling the pressure on.
MPs vote to support assisted dying bill
MPs have voted 330 to 275 in support of the assisted dying bill
A difference of 55
We will never give up fighting ✊
I still recall the shame I felt as a social worker sat in my home & talked about my very large care package. We’re not considering assisted suicide in the context of an ideal scenario but within our current failing systems: https://t.co/d0VMlr92S4 #AssistUsToLive@TheNotDeadYetUK
📢We have written to Wes Streeting, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, to outline the key areas we think should be a priority for the new Government to improve care for those living with mental ill-health, distress and trauma.

@Shrink_at_Large (i feel the need to add a caveat that his writing has a strong "practitioner" tone, so not very lived experience sometimes if that makes sense)
@Shrink_at_Large yes i think i understand what you mean, although recently i came across stuff written by Brian Ngo-Smith in the US, felt good example of a renewal between the two
"The Government must take responsibility and act to ensure that no one else has to endure what I, and many others, have had to face."

So #DWP has just published stats on #UniversalCredit migration notices sent out between July 2022 and Feb 2024. More than a third of individuals did not claim UC and their legacy benefits were closed.
This is hugely concerning, isn't it @stephenctimms?

Were you an NHS inpatient between Oct 2021 and Apr 2023 at any of these Trusts?

You may have been filmed in your inpatient bedroom without your knowledge or consent and footage of you sent to researchers. @katiecoletv#StopOxevision
