We have five followers, no enormous platform and a very big ambition.
We want to help people communicate non-visible physical accessibility needs without disclosing their diagnosis.
Could 5 followers turn into 1,000 people giving ยฃ1?
Let's find out.

Imagine having to explain your private medical history every time you need a seat, cannot stand in a queue, or urgently need a toilet.
We are building a different way.
Communicate the need.
Protect the diagnosis.
Preserve the personโs dignity.
That is Bluebird Aware. ๐
โYou do not look disabledโ is not a compliment.
It means:
โI expected disability to look a certain way, and now I am questioning whether I should believe you.โ
Believe disabled people the first time.
#bluebirdaware
What is one small thing a stranger, employer or business could do that would make life easier with your disability?
We are listening.
Please reply and repost so more disabled people can be heard. ๐
#Disability#Accessibility
The cruelest thing about an invisible disability is that people often treat the absence of visible evidence as evidence of absence.
#disability#awareness
If someone says they need a seat, let them sit.
If they cannot queue, let them wait elsewhere.
If they need the toilet urgently, let them through.
Accessibility does not always require an expensive solution.
Sometimes it simply requires believing someone.
Disabled people should not have to disclose their diagnosis, defend their needs or perform their pain before the world agrees to help them.
โPlease believe meโ should never be an accessibility requirement.

Starting with 5 followers can be lonely
Being challenged with an invisible disability can feel even lonelier
You are not alone

A person can survive sepsis and still lose the life they knew.
Their health, their independence and their ability to work.
The hospital may discharge them.
The consequences do not always leave with them.
Remember the survivors.
@UKSepsisTrust@WorldSepsisDay@Redknapp
5 people die from sepsis every hour in the UK.
Read that again.
5 people. Every hour.
And for thousands who survive, the effects can last a lifetime.
Recognising sepsis saves lives. Supporting survivors matters too.
#WorldSepsisDay@UKSepsisTrust@WorldSepsisDay@Redknapp
We celebrate the life saved.
We rarely talk about the life forever changed.
Sepsis can leave survivors with pain, exhaustion and disabilities the world cannot see.
A life saved must never become a life forgotten. ๐
#WorldSepsisDay@UKSepsisTrust@WorldSepsisDay@Redknapp
Some people survive sepsis, then spend years hearing:
โBut you look well.โ
Survival is not always the end of the story. Sometimes it is the beginning of life with a non-visible disability.
This #WorldSepsisDay, remember the survivors too. ๐
@UKSepsisTrust@Redknapp
The most exhausting part of an invisible disability is not always the condition itself.
Sometimes it is having to prove you are struggling before people believe you deserve support.
@DrFrancesRyan, what do you wish more people understood?
#InvisibleDisability
@boardyai And sometimes โhow have we not met before?โ becomes โhow did we ever build without each other?โ
That is the real power of the right introduction
