@GigaNdisa@nku3he@Sp1thfc Wirtz’s transfer value was established for like a year and he went for below that. If City were never willing to pay for it they would’ve never been in the race. They also just bid a similar amount for Anderson, and Wirtz is an attacker so this just isn’t true.
@13Hnrga@GerardOrGMB@Aymen31677@Jcr_RMCF@MusialaEra It's a combination of Musiala returning, Brown almost always underlapping, and general possession issues that is causing this. You can fix it without moving Musiala out of the 10.
@13Hnrga@GerardOrGMB@Aymen31677@Jcr_RMCF@MusialaEra I said it's not. I just think Nagelsmann values Musiala's traits more in central areas. But I do think Musiala being the 10 makes it hard for Wirtz to roam around if the team isn't dominating possession, so Nagelsmann needs to figure out a solution for that.
@GerardOrGMB@13Hnrga@Aymen31677@Jcr_RMCF@MusialaEra If anything it’s worse now. At least back then they were both wingers rotating with each other. Now even after carrying the team this past year, Wirtz has to hold touchline so Musiala can play as the 10. Think it’s more a profile thing though
@Lnre141@SeanDOlfc You can just say you think Salah is better than Robben, it’s not that deep. That’s not some crazy opinion that you have to come off so rattled about that you’re lying about stats
@danlfcynwa_@MegggFN Not saying you’re entirely incorrect but this only works in games where you control possession. He’s able to roam when you have sustained periods of possession but in games you don’t he ends up isolated out on the left like he was against the US.
@AnfieIdFix@faraz4071@Argie8LFC No? His career didn’t start under Alonso. He played as a 10 in a 4-2-3-1 under Seoane, and this was arguably his best domestic season
@ForeverYid@gotta__chill I don’t think Wirtz is the best example of this when teams are willing to pay 90 mill for Woltemade/Ekitike/Diomande after one good season
@siacerd1900@shemsifcb The issue is if you’re not dominating possession, the ball usually goes through the right side because of Kimmich. So Wirtz remains isolated out left. Wirtz LW only works if the 10 is Gnabry or Havertz and Musiala is the other winger
@alexap02_@shemsifcb and can only come inside when the team has sustained periods of possession, which wasn’t the case yesterday and won’t be for some big games at the World Cup
@alexap02_@shemsifcb This only works when Musiala is the other winger’ so the “10” is a second striker like Havertz or Gnabry to make forward runs and vacate the space behind, allowing both Wirtz and Musiala to come inside. Musiala as a 10 isn’t vacating the space so Wirtz has to stay out wide
@ccmurmur@FlorianFocus The difference is he’s now playing Musiala as the 10 + a traditional winger, so Musiala isn’t making runs that vacate the space behind him for Wirtz, which means Wirtz is stuck out wide.
@ccmurmur@FlorianFocus He’s not. Wirtz has always played as winger under Nagelsmann. The problem is in the past, Wirtz and Musiala would both play as wingers with a second striker as the 10 (Gnabry or Havertz) who would make forward runs and give them both space to operate behind the front two
