HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS spends seven minutes inside Snape’s memories & suddenly every little thing about him hits differently.
Years of mystery, resentment & unanswered questions, all collapsing into one sequence. Alan Rickman was incredible
I think the biggest advantage of the Harry Potter reboot is that it can bring multiple generations together. Game of Thrones was TV-MA, but Harry Potter already has millennial parents, Gen Z fans, and kids discovering the story for the first time.
If HBO finally includes things like the Marauders, Peeves and the Gaunts, I can see this becoming one of HBO’s biggest shows ever.
The movies really missed how tragic James and Lily being only 21 actually is. They were basically kids who finished Hogwarts, got thrown straight into a war, had a baby, and were murdered before they even got the chance to grow up.
That’s what makes the Forbidden Forest scene hit harder in the books. Harry is 17, and the people he sees aren’t old parents or wise adults, they’re young people who barely got to live.
