@Catlover10000S I've read quite a lot of it actually, but certainly not all of it. Fair point though, most of it is excellent. My statement mainly applies to the franchise from a cinematic perspective.
Still is awesome how the creative team behind Robot Chicken was actually able to animate an official commercial promoting The Force Unleashed II back in 2010.
Such a fun way to promote a new Star Wars game, and honestly wish that we saw more unique marketing like this today.
@RoedellB@tabsphere Logical? Lol, no. A logical person knows when to change their mind. What you practice is stubborn, willful ignorance. Not at all to be confused with strength; a stronger, more logical person wouldn't be afraid to admit when they're wrong, rather than risk looking like some idiot.
@RoedellB@tabsphere I couldn't disagree more. A failure to recognize your own mistakes and an unwillingness to correct them is the greatest weakness and moral failing a person can have. Strong and principled defence of shitty takes is the work of absolute morons.
Also, cowardness? Come on.
@RoedellB@tabsphere Precisely, as you do. You fail to understand why rape can be as traumatic as being cut open, or can feel as bad as dying. So the only rationale you have for it to be considered such a terrible crime is apparently that sex must be sacred, and if it isn't, rape isn't so bad. Gross.
@RoedellB@tabsphere I'd argue that it's pretty stupid and mildly evil to compare and contrast horrific crimes against imaginary strangers as a means of arguing that sex is sacred. "Murder is technically worse, and some physical injuries hurt more, therefore sex is sacred." Bad point, poorly made.
@RoedellB@tabsphere Interesting that you're only now replying to my very first comment, rather than continuing to engage with more recent ones. And you ask where I've been? Hilarious.
@RoedellB@tabsphere Because there can hardly be a more dire violation of bodily autonomy than having your body penetrated by the body of another, against your will. You shouldn't need somebody to explain to you why this is one of the worst things that can happen to you. Worse than most things.
@RoedellB@backseetBETTY@tabsphere In other words, human autonomy is what's sacred. Sex may or may not be, but prioritizing a victim's sexual purity over their autonomy is repugnant.
@RoedellB@backseetBETTY@tabsphere Whether one considers sex to be sacred or not is a matter of opinion. The harm done by rape, both physical and psychological, is a matter of fact. It is one of the most traumatic experiences one can have, regardless of how one feels about sex independent of said experience.
@RoedellB@backseetBETTY@tabsphere That is exactly what you suggest when you say that rape is especially grievous because it is a violation of chastity. It implies that harm done to the virtue of a victim is the issue, rather than the trauma suffered by the victim. I'll leave your ignorance of punitive law aside.
@RoedellB@backseetBETTY@tabsphere A judge's ruling on whether a law has been broken is not a subjective opinion. And for a final time: what makes rape a terrible crime is the physical and psychological harm done to the victim. The victim's morality is not compromised by having been raped, as you seem to suggest.
