@sola_chad No, the greatest single cause of unbelief today is the sinful and unrepentant hearts of the sinner who denies God as creator and lauds his own sinfulness.
So Erika is not a “devout catholic” currently and Charlie was not considering converting. Both are/were evangelicals that simply appreciated the beauty of cathedrals (which many Protestants do!).
Please take note of every account on here, like @BreeSolstad & others, that shamelessly spread this gossip as facts. Remember every person who swore up and down that Erika is Catholic today. Remember these people as the liars and snakes that they are.
P.S.: I would have been just as disgusted if it was a prominent Catholic who passed away and Protestants were lying about them converting or their spouse being Protestant. I think gossiping and lying just to score points for your team is really gross.
Live not by lies.
@BroSpencer I would say churches need to stop trusting in background checks. They only work if the person was caught and found guilty. If there is reason to suspect ANYONE at your church you should check court records and local news reports.
I’m thankful for @BadSermons and their efforts to bring awareness to what so many are trapped in, but their work should burden us all to pray for more men who love the word, know the word, live the word, and preach the word.
I feel like I can say this because I am a pastor of an unaffiliated baptist church.
The reason that the IFB began declining in the early 80’s is this … Men began to build kingdoms instead of shepherding flocks.
This has been the problem with the typical IFB church leadership.
Men build kingdoms and use people to do it. When they are wounded or sick..he throws them to the side and uses someone else.
Instead of an expandable people, they become an expendable people.
People become of little to no value at all.
This type of leadership is sad and destroys lives.
Love people. Invests in lives. Mentor the next generation.

@ThePastorBurris I hopped on X so we can share notes on Brook Foss Westcott. It would be a lot of fun if you could use what we discover to create video on your channel.
