touchstone: fully live wholy by faith, loving God's living truth in Christ.
Brother to those who are faithful altho persecuted.
The Gospel invitation is to come to Christ and believe into Christ, enter and find rest in union of your spirit and His. Atonement, being at one with God in Christ, is an open door in the blood of Christ entered by faith.
How great & glorious is the grace of God in Christ to us!
@matthewwinters6 Matthew, it was good crossing paths with you. God continue to bless you & your family as well as your ministry. If you ever plant a church nearby, I'm there.
Elon Musk has the right to do what he wants with Twitter, but this will change both its nature and character. The pay-to-play version of the Public Square is no longer the public square.
@matthewwinters6 Hey good morning:)
The screenshot was from a longer story of an interview with Elon Musk. It was a reputable publication but I don't remember the name of it.
It's Sunday, God bless the Word if you're preaching today.
Then again, God bless you if you're not :))
It's been 14 good years on Twitter, posting about the spiritual journey, but based on changes for non-subscribers (see the next post) there's more reason to leave than stay.
It's been a pleasure meeting so many good people thru the things they shared. Thank you, and God bless!
@gary_giff No man-made image of Christ can capture what the eyes of the heart in faith can see reading John 1, Colossians 1, Hebrews 1 or Revelation 1. But I have no issue with Jesus being shown in childrens's stories or great art showing events from the Bible.
Elon Musk said allowing anyone to pay to have the blue check mark was to eliminate two classes on Twitter. But in fact, displaying only subscriber posts & relegating non-subscriber posts to a separate page that people have to search for, establishes classes in a more divisive way
I don't get a lotta hits on most of my posts so I'm not complaining, but some posts did, and the new Twitter policy that buries posts and takes that possibility away also makes the point of posting meaningless.
@gary_giff Then your issue is with the accuracy of the image? Say that one of the disciples had drawn a portrait of Jesus, would that be ok? Imo that's a different concern than the command not to make any image that is worshiped. In any case, thanks for commenting. God bless you!
@gary_giff ...both this painting and my comment were about joy and the kindness of Jesus, not about making an idol of His image. I'm truly sorry that you were offended.
@gary_giff ...i.e. from images used in Sunday School to those by great artists thru history? If the prohibition is simply about images, not about images that are worshipped, that includes all images "in the earth or in the water". To your point, I don't know what Jesus looked like, but...
"Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are considered a speck of dust on the scales...
All the nations are as nothing before Him; He regards them as nothingness and emptiness."
Isaiah 40
The Church is here - we are here - to be a testimony that Christ is Lord.
“We weep but not like those without hope. We know that in Christ we are secure. Attacks such as this have happened before in our country, and each time the kingdom of God has grown. Eventually, nothing can stop the growth of the church.”

Great quote about the church and politics, a reminder that it's not merely a division of church and state, but the separation of the body of Christ and this world.
There's a living testimony of Christ in brothers and sisters who not only endure persecution but are overcomers thru it, what it is to be in the world, not of it. Their lives can change your's, they did for me.
Knowing the stories of Christians who have gone before us and endured persecution strengthens our faith and resolve. Take time to read about and remember them today.
Remember that the mercy of God in Christ Jesus is your only hope; cling to it, then, as a drowning man clings to the only rope within reach. If you perish praying for mercy through the precious blood, you will be the first that ever perished so.
