@maattso@OliverKay I think your comment goes right to the heart of what’s at stake. As rich and as “important” as the premier league is, our national game is about much, much more.
@maattso@OliverKay A consequence could be that a tightening of the rules makes the premier league (even) less attractive to investors. Personally I believe allowing clubs to have unlimited resources completely undermines the sporting spectacle, & destroys the meritocracy of the football pyramid.
@maattso@OliverKay My hope is that a consequence of this mess is that there will be a full and fundamental review of ownership, funding, debt burdening for infrastructure / leveraged by outs etc.
@maattso@OliverKay You think we “demanded” investment ? And to reinforce our demands we (well Manchester Council to be exact) allegedly gave the UAE investment vehicle a sweetheart deal with preferential terms. LOL. These guys are interested in making money. They are not a benevolent charity.
@cityzenken_ Ive read a lot of rubbish written by City fans on here in the last few days. This post though might just be the most ridiculous of all of them. And thats saying something.
@AshleyMcduff115 This comment is laughable. If you bothered to read up about the board members , the process and the judgement you would know that you're club is in BIG trouble.
@V_the_Cityzen You've forgotten to include any weighting to your figures to include a penalty for the alleged non cooperation of City during the investigation. I suggest you should multiply your final figure by 10.
@Spike______ If your club lose the appeal, they will sell up and leave. As the club will find out tomorrow they are not welcome anymore. But more importantly the humiliation of washing a pile of dirty linen in a PUBLIC Court will be something they will want to avoid.
@FT_Durk I’ve stopped being irritated by the stupid, crass, naive, and utterly pointless posts from City fans, & started enjoying the entertainment they provide. Once the appeal is lost the club will be offered the option of reduced sanctions if they sell. Which they will.
@oche_fije I wonder how many of these fans really know much about the club ? Do they know the name of City's previous ground ? Or who Frannie Lee was ? Or Colin Bell, or Mike Sumerbee ? I doubt it. I find the best way to judge a clubs popularity is worn when abroad ( not just Benidorm). LOL
@RobFishjnlv@Brightonian_ Yet somehow we have got progressively better. Our model has been built for these circumstances. Today we've bought the players to replace the ones we will sell tomorrow. Its a very slick data based operation that means we're increasingly able to challenge.
@thecitydefender Interesting article in the Guardian suggests if City lose their appeal then the club will be sold. The UAE don't do embarrassment and they would prefer to quietly withdraw. I suspect the club will be offered a reduced punishment if its sold.
@thecitydefender If the premier league takes that view its integrity is shot to pieces. The product that is watched across the world will not be considered authentic without addressing this scandal. A real football fan will understand the importance of that.
@davidyelland@ManCity Whats at stake is the integrity of our national game which is governed by rules agreed by participating clubs.
City dispute they have done anything wrong. However if everything else is disproved what cannot be denied is that City failed to cooperate as was required.
