A great hammerhead swimming back off into the blue after a quick work up. It’s always exciting getting to work with these animals but also so important to be efficient and quick. We watch our gear sets vigilantly for any movement on the line, check our sets frequently, and always put the animals well being as top priority.

Great hammerheads are known to suffer post release mortality (death after release). This commonly happens when they are caught and spend time fighting on the line. If you happen to catch a hammerhead, please cut the line and release the animal immediately giving them the best chance to live another day 🙏🏽
