I have directed all government and private schools in Jinja District to stop parents from bringing cash and expensive gifts to P.7, S.4 and S.6 candidates, effective immediately.

No child from a humble family should be made to feel inferior or unhappy. Schools must protect every learner’s dignity and keep candidates focused on their examinations.

Headteachers who defy this directive will face disciplinary action, including suspension. Private schools that fail to comply risk withdrawal of their operating licences through the relevant authorities.

A security guard shouldn't be treated like this. He is a person who has a family and is like any other Ugandan. If he did something wrong, then he should have been taken to the police, not tortured like this. How can you step on someone's head? We request @PoliceUg, @UHRC_UGANDA, and other responsible ministries to investigate this matter and get justice for this security guard.
