[looking at people younger than me] you have your whole life ahead of you, [looking at people older than me] you have your whole life ahead of you, [looking at myself] it's over.
michael jackson is every generation's michael jackson because it was never just the music. the voice, dancing, artistry, creativity, cultural impact, the humanitarian work, the empathy & the way he used his platform to speak about injustice. that’s what makes him irreplaceable.
when i listen to heal the world or earth song it really makes me think about how useless most celebrities are nowadays and how they don't really care, not even half as much as michael did.
i'm so mad that someone as artistically transformative as michael jackson remains so elusive creatively. the media reduced him to spectacle instead of documenting the mind behind the art & now so much of that feels permanently lost. there will never be another artist like him
