i don’t really see the need to use another term for something that already has an easily understandable name sa totoo lang, mas madali pang sabihin ang “turon” kaysa sa “banana lumpia,” yet you just had to call it that. mahirap bang ituro kung ano ang turon?
Mainland Filipinos getting angry at Filams calling Turon "banana lumpia" when my mom, a literal immigrant, taught me it was called banana lumpia when I was younger 😭 we started calling it turon when I got older
learning a new language and being fluent isn’t bad, but seemingly doing nothing to learn about your own is something that makes me question this whole situation because how you’re acting as if you’re in foreign soil. you’re a filipino, learn the language.
wdym “that’s how mean locals get” you are a local yourself 😭 and besides you had all the time in the world to learn about your mother tongue— bullying is one thing, but the victimization for something you can EASILY learn and change about yourself is another lol.
im a pure filipino but english was my first language growing up from watching cartoons on tv and i struggled learning tagalog later on in life so people used to make fun of me for not having a good filipino accent. that's how mean locals will get if u dont speak it fluently.
