Secondly, I’m fundraising for Ronald McDonald House to run the Chicago Marathon. So please consider donating or sharing this link if you like running, charities, fish, or helping sick kids and their families 😁

Opening twitter for the first time in ages to share two things. First this cool video I took during my most recent research trip to Mexico of sulphur mollies doing “the wave”! A really cool collective behavior they do to reduce attacks by birds.
We say goodbye to Bethany @blw9786 and Rishi @PhDetails who visited the lab to study sulphur adaptation in extremophile mollies with us. Was a great time and we got loads of cool samples and data. Stay tuned for some fascinating results coming soon! @scioi_cluster#teamfish
O-fish-ial congrats to Dr. Bethany Warwick graduating with her PhD!
Dr. Warwick studied the effects of low oxygen and turbidity on reproductive physiology and behavior in an African cichlid fish. Dr. Warwick was co-advised by Dr. Suzanne Gray and Dr. Lauren Pintor.

I am so excited to say that my NSF #PRFB was recommended for funding! I’ll be sad to leave everyone in my current lab with @PintorLabOSU and @GrayFishLab but I also can’t wait to get started studying evolution of fish in extreme environments with @michitobler 🐠🥳
🥳 STEM pen pal registration is now open! 🥳
Letters to a Pre-Scientist pairs US 5-12th grade students w/STEM professional pen pals from all over the world in a school-based letter exchange program.
We're recruiting STEM professionals to serve as pen pals for our 2022-23 program!
It’s taken 2.5 years, 100s of 🐠, and the help of my amazing lab mates, but my rearing experiment is now complete! Stay tuned to learn how hypoxia + turbidity affect reproductive physiology and behavior and keep an 👁 on @electrifiedclay to learn about their visual physiology!
The wood frog freezes during the winter months and its heart completely stops beating. As the sun reappears, over a period of 12-24 hours, the frog will thaw and come back to life. Pretty neat, huh? 🐸
