@blankslate2017@ArmandDoma None of that mattered at all. It was inflation. Voters were pissed off about high prices and the squarely blamed Biden/Harris for it. All the other stuff is window dressing. Like 1980 the country was in a bad mood and wanted someone else in charge. The only option was Trump
@janmaxwell@billroy1974 @schlagteslinks Yep and combined with deportations we have sky high prices. Unfortunately the average voter isn’t smart enough to see that
@PolitiCatGrump@billroy1974 @schlagteslinks Yeah, unemployment can be fixed (government investments create jobs etc) a spike in inflation never comes back down unless you have deflation which is actually worse
@schlagteslinks Race was decided 2 years ago with inflation. Everything since has been window dressing. High prices soured the electorate to the party in power and it became pervasive. People don’t care about all the other crap just their wallets unfortunately. It just plain sucks
@VlasicDaniel@ERichTTU@ettingermentum@lxeagle17 100%, Trump is just the figurehead, with no checks he’s gonna put the worst of the worst in charge of everything and it’s gonna be a bloodbath. I’m glad I live in a very blue state so I’ll likely be shielded from a lot of it but feel bad for those who won’t
@DrewSav It’s more simple than people think, it’s inflation. Years of high prices soured the mood of the electorate. The bad track and bad economy polls should’ve been alarm bells but we all ignored. The electorate is in a bad mood and they’re gonna blame the party in power simple as that
@ehannan73@AndyGlockner Yep, years of high prices soured the electorate, all the wrong track and bad economy stuff was a massive warning sign. Voters felt bad about the single most important issue and that’s alway gonna hurt the party in power
@schlagteslinks It’s inflation. In 22 it wasn’t fully baked in yet. The bad feelings created by high prices became pervasive. The right track polling was very indicative of that. The electorate clearly blames the administration and anyone tied to it. Inflation kills governments.
@electionsjoe Yep there was really nothing major she could’ve done better. The race was really decided no matter who ran, 2 years ago when prices shot up. Voters got angry about paying more and that became pervasive across the electorate and Dems being in power got the blame.
