@support_a_teach Hello!
I’m entering year 7 at a Title I school north of Atlanta. My list has a range — basics, art materials, snacks, books, alternative seating options, & reading/math tools are all there. We’d appreciate any help & love sent our way! 🤍

@HollyStallcup Agreed. We do get done before Memorial Day, and have a week break in September, November, February, and April, plus about 2 weeks at Christmas. But sometimes I’d rather start later and not have all the breaks
@TiredSpedTeach I feel the same! I’m doing ok to stay afloat month to month but there isn’t a lot of wiggle room for emergencies/savings/getting ahead. I just signed up for extra stuff at school to get a little bit more $ in my check, & I’m still going to be looking for a 2nd job soon I think
(And also. I really like this gift I’m giving someone and I’m disappointed they’re going to have to open a picture of it with a note that says “whenever the mail comes, you’ll get it” instead of the actual gift)
I have a package that’s been sitting in Atlanta since Monday (the original delivery date). Just…sitting there. I finally got someone @usps to call me with info & they said it could take 5-7 business days just to get to my city (which is only 30 min from ATL)…
There are far more serious problems in the world right now but it is frustrating that the service that’s supposed to help us with mail & packages is just not doing it correctly & accepting that, especially at a time when ppl are trying to get gifts & special things to loved ones
@molly_jasi It looks like you’ve got people giving you recs offline, but I second the Human Rights Museum! Also the botanical gardens & Oakland cemetery. I’m just outside ATL, but let me know if you want anything out of the immediate city or need any help while you’re here 🤍
@HollyStallcup The questions are fine but that video is way too fast & there are too many references to other things they probably wouldn’t get
I’d be curious if this is a state/district sanctioned video (especially in Texas) or if the teacher is using it on their own
@HollyStallcup Oh my gosh. No. I watched 3 minutes of it & this is not meant for ten year-olds.
I’m a little shocked they’re allowed to use it bc of the sexual stuff in it. The first reference my eyes widened and I think I audibly gasped. We’d be fired for that 😂
@kaylajohnsonatl I moved last weekend and felt the same way about where I had been living (6 yrs!) — good luck with the move & I hope your new place is amazing! 🤍
@FayelleEwuakye (I don’t know you but I saw this on my feed so I hope this is ok)
I put the stylers on my hair while it’s soaking wet in the shower, then squish as much water out as possible, & then plop it in a microfiber towel instead of a tshirt, which helped me a lot w/ the dripping
@kaylajohnsonatl I was very skeptical when I started it but I love it so much. I’ve cried and been moved by it more times than I can count, and have now watched the series through multiple times. It just keeps getting better
I am in the process of moving and being at the beginning of a school year and being roommate-less/single so doing all the moving things myself and I am so overwhelmed
I know it’s time to move & there are good reasons to do so but it’s so much
