ACTION ALERT - @tdsb cancelled their workshop on Anti-Palestinian Racism. From Toronto Palestinian Families: "Tell the TDSB: Reinstate Permit for APR Educational Session
The TDSB has cancelled a scheduled educational session on anti-Palestinian racism just one day before it was set to take place, citing concerns about “divisiveness” and “school climate.” This decision follows a troubling pattern of erasure and undermines the Board’s stated commitments to equity and inclusion.
We are calling on the TDSB to immediately reinstate the permit, issue a public apology, and take meaningful action to address anti-Palestinian racism in its schools. Join us in demanding accountability and affirming the right of all students to recognition, dignity, and safe learning spaces."

Honoured to celebrate my dear colleague and friend Dr RJ Cusimano, recipient of the Order of Ontario for his dedication to patients with cardiac tumours.
Well deserved RJ! @heartdaddy1@UHN_Surgery@PMunkCardiacCtr
An incredible victory for @HamawyForNJ.
More proof that taking a principled stand on Israel's genocide is not a liability among the working class majority of this continent.
Moral clarity is popular.

🎥 Juliet Lamont, an Australian documentary filmmaker and Gaza flotilla activist, speaks to Double Down News about being raped by Israeli soldiers after the aid vessel she was aboard was intercepted earlier this month.
Lamont says soldiers pulled down her trousers and underwear and that an Israeli soldier forcibly penetrated her vagina while she was in detention. She was among more than 450 activists seized when Israeli forces intercepted the Global Sumud flotilla in international waters. Organizers say at least 15 detainees reported sexual assault or rape while in Israeli custody.

Yes, the Ben-Gvir video is disgraceful. But that's not the issue. The (obvious) issue is that if that's how nonviolent European protesters are treated in public, any person with a brain can imagine how Palestinians are treated behind closed doors. *That* is the real scandal.
The @CanadaBoatGaza’s @GazaFFlotilla vessel, the PERSEVERANCE, has been illegally attacked and its volunteers abducted by Israeli forces. Sign this petition and contact your government officials to demand their immediate release and an end to Canada’s complicity in genocide.
The Government of Canada and the CBSA deliberately targeted Muslim scholars invited to the MAC Convention this week.
Visa cancellations. ETA holds. Hours of interrogation at Pearson. Scholars denied water. Subjected to vulgar language by federal officers.
This is Islamophobia operating through a federal agency, and it will not go unanswered.
This is happening on the watch of Public Safety Minister Anandasangaree. MAC is calling on the Prime Minister's Office to immediately investigate, hold those responsible accountable, and end this treatment.

They could barely bring themselves to say her name and when they did used the dog whistle “Hezbollah aligned” in order to dehumanise Amal and justify her killing by I$rael.
Amal Khalil was a friend to me and many others having worked in the field since the 2006 war. What she did was unique, reporting from the south and raising the voices of the people there who are subjected to brutal treatment and attacks from I$rael.
Amal had herself received numerous death threats, some warning her to leave and if she didn’t her head would be removed from her shoulders. It’s a testament to her that she defied those threats and up until the end continued to expose I$raeli war comes.
She was a brave and courageous journalist, a daughter of the south and her mic and her pen was a tribune of the people. This is what made her so dangerous, with I$rael fearing a camera and a pen more than a Hezb0llah fighter.
Her body wasn’t “found under the rubble” as though it had been mysteriously placed there. I$rael targeted a car in front of her, when she sheltered in a building it was struck collapsing it, then the emergency operations were delayed for at least 7 hours as ambulances and civil defence workers were fired on.
This was a deliberate assassination and a war crime. But try as they might they will never stop journalists here from reporting the truth.
I cry every time I read the details of the torture that Israel did to him. The way he was found and the injuries he sustained. It breaks me in multiple ways every single time. I’m so terrified of what they’re doing to Dr Hussam Abu Safiya.
We must continue to use all available resources to get all the prisoners released immediately.

🇮🇱🇵🇸Holy shit, Haaretz published a list of atrocities Israeli soldiers did and saw in Gaza, and the details are stomach churning:
• Soldiers pissing on a bound, blindfolded detainee while laughing and joking about October 7
• Interrogators torturing detainees by tying cable ties around their genitals
• An officer executing an unarmed Palestinian who had surrendered with hands up, then covering it up as a “terrorist killed”
• Widespread excitement in units over “special means” used to kill people in tunnels, while one soldier said it reminded him of the Holocaust
• A tank gunning down five Palestinians crossing a line (four killed), followed by a D9 bulldozer burying the bodies in sand
• Soldiers opening fire on unarmed civilians, including an old man and three teenage boys who turned out to be completely unarmed
• Looting Palestinian homes, burning photos, and urinating on personal belongings for fun
The impact back home has been brutal.
Soldiers are throwing out mirrors because they can’t look at themselves.
Others are breaking down crying in public. Many are struggling with suicidal thoughts, shame, and nightmares.
These soldiers will carry this for decades.
Heavy, painful reading.
The hospitality that makes foreigners leave with their wallets untouched. The memes that win wars on their own. The music India listens to in secret. The food the world is only now discovering.
Not Arabs. Not Indians. Just Pakistanis.
I have read a statement
that “a whole civilization
will die tonight,
never to be brought back again,”
and as I read that statement
and as I reread that statement
I cannot shake the feeling
that the civilization
from which that statement comes
is one that is already dead.
Irrespective of whatever happens tonight, the Spokesperson of Iran Military Central Headquarters Ebrahim Zulfaqari and The Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will go down in history as the boldest and bravest humans alive. 🇮🇷
