@Tuxmux@za45370@JFreshHockey Knies is currently playing on a better constructed roster, with a better superstar in Matthews missed the playoffs last year in a weaker division. I genuinely don’t understand where the idea comes from that Knies would just magically make Chicago a contender?
@Tuxmux@za45370@JFreshHockey So the plan blow your two most valuable assets on Knies, you play Colorado/Dallas/Minnesota in the first two rounds, Vegas/ Mcdavid in the conference finals then Florida in the Finals? You think Knies gets them over that hump?
@za45370@JFreshHockey Because what does it do for Chicago? They are still a few years away and have multiple upgrades they need. A premium winger doesn’t move the needle to get them over the top. If they were to move those assets individually they can get far more value than both for Knies.
@JFreshHockey I love that they looked and this and could have just put some guys in the TBD holes, but they thought, no these are the positions that we need to upgrade.
@politicstcan *One* guy has said that from what I can see. He’s a hall of fame defensemen which pretty much makes his a top 50 d-man all time, I don’t think I’ve really ever heard people advocate for him as much more than that.
@TalkeyHockey I mean signing a contract isn’t just a turn of phrase. There is a large legal document that is signed. Teams could very easily add that in the NTC or NMC portion if they had the appropriate foresight. Not saying it ethical, but he’s within his rights still.
@SilviVtuber As a 90’s kid in Ontario, Mcdicks was pretty commonly used in high school. Clown House was the personal slang of my town that seems to be uncommon elsewhere though
@sullyengels Hate to be this guy but looking at the injury report, it doesn’t look like either guy is actually injured. Collisions are always going to happen in sports, at least we compensate these guys with millions of dollars. Make sure neither of them are concussed and let move on.
@TopDownHockey@JFreshHockey The same draft that they got Hutson in the second after his brother had clearly established himself as a top prospect. Sometimes you just have to take the layups.
@P__Airoldi No horse in this race, but Suzuki and Caufield have a cup final under their belt directly tied to a Matthews and Marner leafs team playoff defeat. The leafs window has open and closed and this was Montreal’s first real run during this cores window. They will be fine from this.
@joshbeleaf I mean let’s keep in perspective that Andrighetto and Malgin are some of the top scorers in this tournament. It may not be a perfect barometer for NHL success.
