The challenge was casted by Norfolk’s Councilwoman Danica Royster, and Morring Law not only met but exceeded expectations, raising 12,200. This fund not only aids those in need with groceries but also gifted $1,200 to support someone for an entire year through a raffle.

Today was truly unforgettable. The Deanwood Citizens Association’s Executive Board awarded $3,000 checks to four Ward 7 schools. I had the privilege of leading the revitalization of this initiative, crafting the application process, & engaging w/ the leadership of each school. 🙏🏾

@311DCGov Though it may not be within your purview, consider adding a category for hanging electrical wires. This would spare constituents from the barriers of identifying ownership to resolve improperly secured wires.

The CBE Certification was a hot topic with each candidate agreeing that there are bureaucratic barriers that exacerbate the equity gap for Black-owned businesses. When asked would they develop a certification program to prioritize for Ward 7 opportunities, they all said “No”

Despite scheduling conflicts, candidates Wendell Felder and Veda Rasheed joined the discussion in the second half, sparking intense exchanges as Ms. Payne and her supporter challenged Mr. Felder's proposals, and each candidate's commitment to community support was scrutinized.

The Ward 7 Candidates Forum, hosted by the Black Business Task Force, is in full swing.

Only 2 candidates Kelvin Brown & Ebony Payne stand out as champions for our entrepreneurs, Black-owned businesses, & fostering pathways for youth and residents to excel in entrepreneurship.

Yesterday, executive members of the Deanwood Citizens Association were privileged with a captivating tour of the iconic Strand, graciously led by 8E Commissioner and Co-owner, @KellyMikelDC .

Once a theater, now, poised to emerge as a sophisticated restaurant and cigar lounge.

@wmata aims to raise fares despite the ongoing challenge of delivering improved service quality. Additionally, there are concerns about cleanliness lapses between bus rotations and reports of subpar customer service, notably at Deanwood station.

As a small business owner I cannot emphasize the level of frustration of invoices that are paid late. Small business owners don’t have bajillion dollar operating funds IE corporations.

If and when you are in a situation where you will be late communicate.

Tonight, the stage at the Ward 7 Candidates Forum, hosted by the Anacostia Coordinating Council, welcomed all 10 candidates. While some chose to echo their peers, Felder, Thompson, and Rasheed stood out, offering concrete plans to tackle Ward 7's pressing issues.
