I got the 7th book at Barnes and Noble at midnight. Went home, cracked it open, and finished it in one sitting. At like 9am, I came out of my room, handed the book to my little brother, and went back to bed lol. I miss those days of having time to just sit and read.
reposting again because i also think people need to realize the monologue stratt says at the end of the book about grace being a coward was 100% correct. he is a coward many of his seemingly innocent traits are direct results of his cowardice
this scene is devastating to me bc stratt's looking at the ship w/ bittersweetness, feeling the weight of everything it has to accomplish- but grace looks at the ship & then her with all the admiration/pride she deserves. when he compliments her, he stops her spiralling thoughts
SHE LOOKS DIRECTLY AT GRACE THE WHOLE TIME SHES SINGING "Remember everything will be alright
We can meet again somewhere
Somewhere far away from here" (1:40)
AND THEN IS SO DISTRAUGHT SHE HAS TO STOP
AND WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO READ THEM AS DOOMED LOVERS???
Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own than when you almost broke it, eight years and a half ago.
Sandra Hüller on what convinced her to join Project Hail Mary:
“Making this film felt like a truly collaborative experience. I genuinely felt involved in the artistic decision-making. Otherwise, I would never have agreed to do it.”
friendly reminder that when this scene happened, effie had watched the same games everyone else had. she only saw the capitol, manipulated version of haymitch: a beast. and she still choose to believe him and knew who he was because of ONE gesture of kindness.
