We also don't talk about how sports teams used to give athletes a bunch of drugs to help them block the pain signals in their central nervous system so athletes could still play at a very very high level even when hurt quite often. Today those drugs are illegal so athletes who are hurt actually have to play through the pain which makes them way less productive on the court when injured. They use to just pump them full of Narcotics and opioids.
