Yesterday we took our Hood 2 Hood through the Uptown section of Philadelphia. The community embraced us and chanted as we chanted Miles up and Gun Down! Don’t shoot and save the youth! We even hit one corner and started doing the Cha Cha Slide with some community members!
Yesterday we took our #Hood2HoodRunSeries through Southwest Philly. We got major love from the community out there, the youth and adults cheered us on. Shoutout to all the runners who joined us!! #BMRPhilly#SwaggaHouseRunClub
Today we went to one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in Philly (Kensington) passed out over 125 pairs of gently used running shoes, socks, waters, sodas, blankets, over 125 sandwiches to the homeless & less fortunate in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day #MLK2024
Leroy Miles does so much for the community. We're incredibly grateful that he is also a sponsored runner for @LOVERUNPHILLY and @LegacyOfHopePHL, helping to provide emergency support and hope to cancer patients and their families.
"I run to escape from the world of 'what we can’t do" and turn it into 'what we can do' without being afraid to travel the path that is motivating and uplifting to define self awareness; knowing who you are, where you come from and how far you have come while facing challenges, roadblocks and adversity."
"I'm setting the stage to motivate others as much as they motivate me."
To Leroy: Philadelphia is lucky to have you ❤️
Run the @LOVERUNPHILLY half marathon or 7K with Leroy Miles and hundreds of others who are running for free and running with a purpose. Let's motivate each other.

The tight-knit running community that once embraced slain Temple police officer Chris Fitzgerald carried on their weekly run with a heavy heart. https://t.co/EHrmkeTXcA
@BMR_PHL - A national organization with a Philly chapter, Black Men Run encourages African American men to prioritize their health and wellness through group running and regular exercise.
Last night we lost our brother Chris Fitzgerald who was a Temple University Police Officer. Chris was also one the founding members of the Philadelphia Hood 2 Hood Run Series. Which is a collab between BMR PHL & Swagga House Run Club focused on Stopping Gun Violence citywide 🕊️
Yesterday evening we kicked off Black History Month strong. We ran our signature and scenic route into center city. It was a must that we stop at the Octavious V. Catto Memorial for group photos and to reflect on his legacy!!#BlackHistoryMonth
Today we hosted our 2nd annual Sneaker Drive. As a collective effort we managed to give out over 100 pairs of running shoes, socks, sandwiches and waters to those in need. We will continue the honor the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr 🫶🏾
We kicked off 2023 with our 7th annual Kwanza 5 Miler, New Year’s Day Run. We had a decent turnout with brothers coming from far as Atlantic City, New Jersey. We also got to fellowship with other runners. Sending love & wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year 💪🏾🎆🖤
Today we ran our annual Christmas Eve Ugly Sweater Fun Run. We had a great turnout despite the frigid temperatures. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone 💪🏾🥶🎄🎅🏾
Running is an activity used to improve physical health and well-being. But for members of Black Men Run Philly, it also provides a sense of community and representation.

Last Wednesday we completed our 5th Hood 2 Hood Run in West Philadelphia. We left from Haddington recreation center and made our presents known in some of the highest Gun Violence parts of the area. The community embraced our movement every step of the way.
