I went 3-5 in the Baltimore Regional. I lost my third set at 2-3.
It hurts getting a result like this after working, stressing, and dedicating hours towards a goal that you really want. My goal was to make it to my first Day 2.
Imposter syndrome starts kicking in. “Am I cut out for this?” “Am I putting in enough work?”
I’m almost a year into my VGC journey. This was my 4th regional. When I started, I thought: “After 2 years, I’ll make my first Day 2.” But then I see a lot of people who have only been to their 1st or 2nd regional and making Day 2. Some of them are friends. And I want clarify: I’m SOO hyped for them! They deserve it. They’ve put in a lot of work as well! But sometimes it makes me question myself.
But, after a little bit of time of unwinding, I’m out of the brain funk. I’m still hungry. I still believe I can get to Day 2. I want to thank every one of my friends who have been a part of my journey so far. The people who have been patient enough to teach me what they’ve learned on their journeys. The people willing to take time out of their day to help me practice. I’m really lucky to have such a supportive circle.
Regardless of my result, I had such a blast! I made some new friends, caught up with current ones, and had fun exploring the city a bit 🙂 I’ll see y’all at Vegas!
