I need to address my previous tweet about celebrating death.
First, I hear the anger. I understand why so many of you are upset about it. (Handisati ndambotukwa zvakadai) and l have to reflect as a brother and a leader.
My tweet was never meant to honour anyone. It was about a principle: that celebrating any death should not become part of our politics (l believe it still that in a normal society it shouldn’t) That principle is not about him. It is about us, its also about us not doing it with the thought that this is the end/the ultimate win.
I also understand that principles spoken in the wrong moment can sound like indifference. For many Zimbabweans, Chivhayo’s death is not an abstract moral question. The anger comes from real pain, and I should have acknowledged that before speaking about compassion. For that, I apologise.
I am a Pastor and a development practitioner. I have spent years raising millions of dollars for healthcare in Zimbabwe and recently in Africa. I run a mobile clinic that brings free healthcare to young people, and we have another facility under construction. I could not do this work if everything was already in place, this work exists precisely because I am an active citizen.
I have also always spoken against injustice, in public and in private, including at times when it was not expected of me or convenient for me , it might not have been in times that some are looking for. That is not a claim I make lightly. It is the same conviction that drives the work I do every day tirelessly.
I am against political polarisation, intolerance and hate. I want every Zimbabwean to win. I will celebrate true freedom and progress. And it is also why I will not stay silent about corruption or injustice.
Standing on principle does not mean standing apart from the pain of every Zimbabwean. If my post sounded as if I am numb to the pain of ordinary Zimbabweans, that was never my intention, and I apologise for that.
I believe we can demand justice without losing our own humanity. This is what we have faced. And when our day comes, I am sure we will not be swallowed into becoming what we stood against- this is the greatest fear l have.
Imagine the day we find ourselves in a better country as Zimbabweans. Are we going to focus on nation building, or will it still be about who did what to us? Will polarisation stop, or will it be eye for an eye first?
I remain with you.
The call for social justice remains at the heart of both Christianity and our shared humanity. Voices that confront injustice and speak for the suffering must never be silenced. This is the Gospel lived out.
God said to Ezekiel go down where the bones are, go around the people who have been tortured and abused by the regressive mean policies, actions, decisions & unholy alliances with the false prophets, greedy corrupt individuals and politicians.

Healthcare, affordable education, affordable food and shelter, employment opportunities and earning a decent pay, these are the basic things Zimbabweans ask of the govt. Basic necessities.
No one wants said “ when l grow up l want to be a vendor” . So when we say we are fixing the country, this is what we should focus on.
Every nation will be judged vy it treats the poor!

Thank you @sir_wicknell - bought, signed, sealed and delivered. 250 000 USD for lunch & 150 000 USD for fuel ⛽️
You are a marvel, a force, a signature of giving! Sir Wicknell, your extraordinary benevolence has become a living sermon-an unmistakable manifestation of compassion, generosity and uncommon grace. You have strengthened ministries, restored dignity and turned the tears of God's people into testimonies. Your philanthropy is not merely impressive; it is monumental, generational and deeply spiritual. Heaven has entrusted you with the rare capacity to become an answer to the prayers of many.
I prophetically declare: may every seed you have sown rise before God as an everlasting memorial! Your well shall never run dry, your hands shall never lack the power to give, and your greatness shall never diminish.
May God preserve your life, multiply your resources and establish your legacy across generations. Because you have lifted thousands, you shall never fall; because you have remembered God's people, heaven shall continually remember you-in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
In Greek Mythology we read about Icarious. He was warned not to get too haughty and fly too close to the sun. But Icarious was intoxicated possibly by addulations and the experience of flight that he went higher and higher in defiance of his limitations. Lo his wax wings melted
#LetFreedomSing Social media is hardly the right place to announce news about anyone's death. Always spare a thought a thought for family members and loved ones . Always try to create a platform that allows the deceased's family the privilege to inform the world about their loss . Our humanity ( Utuu , hunhu, Ubuntu ) is particularly cherished at difficult times
