Today I will share about Myopia (short-sightedness).
This is the most common cause of refractive error in children and the most common ocular disorder worldwide. Research shows by 2050, half of the population will be myopic according to the recent trends.
Fear, going for irrelevant cheaper “options” has made this person to go blind or irreversible poor vision.
Following instructions of your eye doctor is so essential and helpful.
It can save you your vision
Quick example:
Scenario 1: This person will come to an eye doctor because of poor vision and will be told about the management (injection of drug A).
This person will fear and ends up going somewhere and insists to get glasses, herbs or get an eye drop over the counter
However, the poor vision continues.
By the time they accept to get an injection then the condition has worsened and is now complicated and irreversible.
Learning point: Visit an eye doctor for a thorough eye examination. This is essential as it will cost you less than the money to treat a complicated condition.
It can save you more money, pain, inefficiency and possibilities to lose the eye.
Absolutely, when someone has a red eye.
Influence and experience from influence tells them to go to the clinic and get an eye from an attendant.
Fortunately, it gets resolved without spending a penny to visit an eye doctor.
Second time this happens (a different condition but has red eye as one of symptoms), they think from experience to get another eye drop.
This time around it fails and condition accelerates.
By the time they come to an eye doctor it’s now worse compared to if they had come early

Expensive care, inability to travel to hospitals and lack of knowledge about #EyeHealth, make it hard for women to get #eyeglasses. As a result, women are 15% more likely to have serious vision impairment than men. How do you think we can achieve #GenderEquality in #EyeCare?
