Today we commemorate the first bombing of Darwin. On 19th February 1942, 188 aircraft had launched from the Japanese aircraft carriers with their task to sink all shipping in the port, destroy the port facilities and township to prevent them supporting Allied operations.
Due to this and our scheduled restoration work over the next few months, our last open day for 2023 is Sunday 29th October. We hope to reopen mid-February 2024 and will update you next year.
