@SekWisniewski We'd have to go back into the sources to pull out the specific rooftop figures, but there will be lower amounts of steel & no concrete needed (rare to have roof ballast).
We've focused our work on utility scale projects to keep the frame of reference consistent across all techs.
@AlScottRational Thanks for the feedback. We'll up date the Hydro lifespan shortly. The 30yr lifespan for PV is consistent with the technical lifespan figures in engineering assessments. Economical lifespan of 25yr is consistent with standard warranties. We'll look into those degradation figures.

this is huge news! retrofitting coal plants is one of the coolest ways to use nuclear power because it:

@evcricket We tend to refrain from naming sites as that can bring undue angst on that community. Informed consent is a must.
There are general requirements for sure that can be identified eg Tx capacity, construction needs, cooling needs, workforce & proximity to industries.
@evcricket Hi Evan, we acknowledge there would be localised Tx connections & switchyard. This was said in the context of the wider transmission plans in the ISP to enable greater renewable energy projects e.g. A NPP can connect into the existing +275kV backbone via switchyard.

Excluding it only increases the amount of extractive impact we have on the environment. (2/2)

@simonahac@CSIRO Additionally we noted a few errors within the CSIRO LCOE calculations for 'Nuclear SMR' and suggested edits to improve their calculations. However, owing to the prohibition the motivation within CSIRO to fix these are low.
@simonahac@CSIRO Hi Simon. For us it hasn't been about the exact figure the CSIRO should use. Rather it is the process to arrive at an estimate to use in the AUS context. We provided the case of the Canadian SMR roadmap as a process the CSIRO could emulate to get a better, verified, estimate.
