We used fractions to make mudpie recipes in maths today!

Today we made sherbet in inquiry and it was a hit! Here is what we used:
- 1 tsp bicarb soda
- 1 tsp citric acid
- 6 tsp jelly crystals
- 8 tsp icing sugar

Use more sugar/jelly crystals if you like! Yum!

JB's curious creature for Book Week! It has 4 eyes, wings, scales, a tongue, dog ears, sharp teeth, whiskers, sharp claws/ talons, 2 horns, colourful hair and a long tail. Curious indeed!

This afternoon the Juniors had their own assembly on the oval complete with shining stars presented by (new) Tom, a spoken school song performance by the senior music kids and announcements about Book Week next week! Don't forget to dress up on Thursday! 🎶📙

We were busy being scientists and experimenting with different substances outside this afternoon!

In maths today we drew a koala head on grid paper. We then had to calculate the area of the ears, eyes, nose and rest of the face, then add them all together to find out the total area of the head! It was tricky but lots of fun!

We investigated this egg model and skull. We guessed which animals they came from. Afterwards we found out that the egg was a model of an ostrich egg, and the skull was from a koala! @bnwps_jhw

We had Bianca (3/4 teacher) come in this afternoon to share her knowledge about phythons and snakes today. We were lucky enough to hear about all the cool things she used to do when she was working at the zoo! 🐵🐮🦁🦊🐻🐼

Today we continued our focus on animals in investigations. We made Lego animal sculptures, drew and coloured Australian animals, created zoos and read facts to help us learn more with @bnwps_jhw.

Last week we watched a video from Uncle Trevor, an Aboriginal Elder. He told us about Aboriginal culture and showed us lots of things, including how to make chalk paint. Today we tried making our own! @bnwps_jhw
