Hey Albertans

I’m going to look into my crystal ball and make some predictions. Some of you may not like them, but bear with me.

Option 2 will lose with about 30% support. 😔

Most of the other 9 questions will get slight majorities (~55%)

Following the vote @ABDanielleSmith will fail to make any meaningful changes for the ~50% of her independence supporters that want major reforms.

A new party will form to appease independence supporters (including me). We are no longer willing to support do-nothing conservatives whether provincial or federal.

The vote will split leading to another disastrous NDP government.

This prediction isn’t coming out of nowhere. It is history.

My question to @UCPCaucus and @CPC_HQ supporters is ‘Do you want history to repeat itself?’ ⬇️

Why not vote Option 2 to keep the party from splitting? This will push Canada to consider substantial changes.

You can always vote no to independence later. Let’s vote option 2 to keep the discussions going.

I've said this many times. Ontario & Quebec always looked south across a real border. The St-Lawrence, the Great Lakes, and forts. They knew exactly where “us” ended and “them” began.

Alberta never had that luxury. The 49th parallel is an imaginary line across open prairie. Cattle, pipelines, workers, and capital crossed it for generations without drama. We didn’t peer across a lake. We shared a landscape.

Now the same provinces that lived with a hard border are in a tariff war with the United States. Car plants, steel, aluminum, and lumber are taking hits. Fair enough, that’s their fight.

What’s not fair is the sudden demand that Alberta throw its energy exports into the same fire. We are the least exposed province. Energy was largely carved out. We have no interest in weaponizing the one commodity that still moves freely, just so Eastern Canada can feel it has leverage.

We already send you billions in equalization and excess CPP payments, now you want more.

We want no part of escalating a fight we didn’t start... and that barely touches us. Why should we? What have you done for us in the last 100 years (other that pillage our resources). Now you're asking us to burn our own houses so YOU can have heat.

A different geography produced a different relationship with the United States. This "war" is just more proof that we're different.

Eastern Canada lived with a physical border; Alberta lived with a line on the grass.

It’s okay to joke about yourself, and your country, Jason. Canada has earned a few jokes.

For example, you could joke about how you sat around maskless — drinking wine and whiskey at taxpayer expense with Health Minister Tyler Shandro, Environment Minister Jason Nixon, and Finance Minister Travis Toews — while locking down your province and requiring people from different households to stay 2 metres apart.

On October 19 choose option 2 if you want a better future for you, your kids and future generations of Albertans.

If you ant to stay in an abusive relationship with Ottawa, then choose Option 1.

How do you plan to vote in the October 19 referendum?

Option 1: Stay in Canada and end the independence process.

Option 2: Continue the independence process and move Alberta toward a future binding yes/no vote on independence.

The U.S. Commerce Secretary says Carney’s liberals deliberately walked away from a trade deal for political gain and to stop sovereignty movements in Alberta & Quebec.

Economic damage for Canadians, all to protect Ottawa’s political control.
