boat (YC F26)

makers of ⛵ boat : powerful, affordable sandboxes for agents
👉 👈

backed by @ycombinator (F26) & @fdotinc

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

how to use https://t.co/Y2baLvKSfN?

tell this to your agent:

"onboard me on https://t.co/Y2baLvKSfN till we have a first VM up and then build a QA bot that sends me a fast demo video & report when I send a msg describing a feature on telegram, & can do multiple in parallel"

[Anicet @AniC_dev]

Introducing https://t.co/7XB0X7YlMK

the VM sandbox with the fastest CPU
and the lowest price per hour

ideal for long-running or always-on agents

[Anicet @AniC_dev]

49 large https://t.co/7XB0X7YlMK VMs, each with claude code and haiku inside play the https://t.co/7XB0X7YlMK RTS game

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

@zeeg https://t.co/Y2baLvLq5l sits at the perfect in between

full VM capabilities, no run limit (supports short & long), disk backed up live but state not fully persistent so they can scale to tens of thousands, and absurdly cheap: $0.018/hr for 2vCPU 4GB ram 50GB disk

[Anicet @AniC_dev]

introducing better sandbox observability in https://t.co/7XB0X7YlMK

you can now:

- Plug CPU, mem, disk and events of any VM to Otel
- See processes running inside & their stdin/stdout, for 72 hours even when the VM is down
- Reattach to a running command & stop it from outside

@chrisbbh you're the goat sir

[Christian Bager Bach Houmann @chrisbbh]

Worked on getting sandboxes into T3 Code

Instead of running on main or a new worktree, it spins up a fresh https://t.co/Gdraws9Sza VM, run the agent there, and adds it as a remote environment on all devices

No more managing memory on my machines or balancing worktrees

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

@sacheeperera at sea ;D

[Sachee @sacheeperera]

omg @boatdotdev - where have you been this entire time! so good

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

@LimYiShengBrian thanks Brian! happy to be helping

[Brian @LimYiShengBrian]

@boatdotdev i gotta say i’m enjoying the https://t.co/oIkL4ZQ3x1 experience so far, easiest way to offload your agents work onto a VM. because of that i don’t have to spend $$$ on a bigger laptop upgrade and they even lookout for any errors proactively on the VMs

[Anicet @AniC_dev]

you can now share VM snapshots on https://t.co/7XB0X7YlMK publicly or privately

in the UI or via our CLI & API you can create & revoke secret share codes for your snapshots

anyone with the code can spawn a VM from it, with all your secrets scrubbed

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

@KorobovIva71842 @DavidOndrej1 hehe

[Anicet @AniC_dev]

spinning up 250 large https://t.co/7XB0X7YlMK VMs with their desktop recorded & ghostty running inside

2000 CPU cores, 4000 GB of ram, >37TB of local nvme snapshotted in real time

total cost for 20 seconds of this: 10 cents

there is no better VM infra for agents

[d3layd @d3layd]

The amount of things you can do with https://t.co/OkeDLvAu05 is seemingly approaching infinity @boatdotdev

[Anicet @AniC_dev]

you can now run windows apps inside our https://t.co/jd3RB8THvD linux VMs

windows VMs are a pain to work with, so instead use boat VMs + wine to get the same result

only $0.018/hr for the VM where this video was recorded

apps that work:

- Steam
- https://t.co/ovW124kDeJ
- Winamp
- Notepad++
- WinRAR
- 7-Zip

[Leo - 15 y/o founder @leodev]

made some little sandbox card animations for @e2b, @daytonaio, @vercel, @upstash, @boatdotdev, @Railway, @tenki.

it gives each of them a unique look

sandbox sdk v1 is gonna be so good 👀

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

@hammadmajid_4 just refunded you

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

now we have a https://t.co/Y2baLvLq5l game

[Anicet @AniC_dev]

made an RTS game where you siege big sandbox providers using pirate boats

all playable in the preview on X

@boatdotdev is the most easy to use, powerful and least expensive full VM sandbox

https://t.co/h6aoELN7lW

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

we're gonna need a bigger ship captain

[Anicet @AniC_dev]

I think that's pmf boys

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

@renoraksi fixed now

[boat (YC F26) @boatdotdev]

@renoraksi it doesn't say to just undersell
it says to neither oversell nor undersell
but true, now models fixate on this and it's stupid, they can't balance the sheet, should just nuke it
