Fixing the injustice done to our retirees was our top priority this legislative session. We were minutes away from accomplishing our goal. "Rather than Backing the Blue, Delegate Kathy Szeliga decided to Back the Bus over the Blue."
@BobbyCherryJr, congratulations on your retirement. One of the best to ever do it. Thank you for helping the FOP understand our role in politics. We, as an organization, are better because of you.
This truly bipartisan victory is the result of years of hard work and unwavering commitment to Social Security fairness. We are proud to stand with our allies in this historic moment. This success wouldn’t have been possible without our members, who answered the call to action by reaching out to their Representatives and Senators. Your voices were heard! 💪

You know why our citizens are being brutalized in the streets of Baltimore on a daily basis? Because there are a total of 536 uniformed patrol officers on patrol when there used to be a thousand. The BPD agreed with FOP3 that there needs to be 980 uniformed patrol officers protecting our citizens. There is half that and the citizens need to demand that the BPD and City leaders do more to retain and attract officers to this city. Right now the compensation and working conditions just don’t match up to those surrounding departments who take our recruits and veteran officers.
@BaltStreetNews This decision was made only for schools returned to the City of Baltimore's control. Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners is a separate entity from the Baltimore City government.
Good work tonight.... Loaded Handgun recovery and arrest on "The Block" with my guy, Lt. Warren, citywide operations commander, and the BSP Curfew Detail. Cops from all agencies in Baltimore are still working hard.
Though no amount of prison time will bring back our colleague, we commend Circuit Court Judge Schiffer on her decision to sentence Officer Keona Holley’s murderer to life in prison, without the possibility of parole; a sentence he will serve alongside his accomplice in this heinous crime. They are merely two cowards who ambushed a uniformed BPD member. The Judge’s decision today is just, and we can only hope that every day these cowards spend in jail is worse than the day before. We continue to pray for healing for the Holley family as well as Keona’s friends and colleagues. Also thank you to ASA Bjorklund, State's Attorney Bates and, of course, all of the detectives and members of the BPD for their courageous and relentless work for this outcome.

In addition to these numbers, since Judge Bredar has been overseeing this Consent Decree, the @BaltimorePolice lost 550 more officers than they’ve hired. More time and effort should have been focused on retaining and recruiting officers.
Staffing Crisis at Baltimore Police Department hits breaking point, say Officers https://t.co/K1DoAuR0EV
At yesterday’s Consent Decree hearing, Federal Court Judge Bredar once again gave @BaltimorePolice a pass on the department’s staffing problems. Although he acknowledged the department is hundreds of officers short, he did not press them for any answers. The BPD is the lowest-paid agency compared to competing jurisdictions and will never comply with the Consent Decree without addressing recruitment and retention.
A father 💯❤️
His daughter was competing in her 2nd ever competition & she kept having trouble with her opponent so she turned to her dad/instructor & said “daddy I’m not doing good”
As her father and instructor, he saw this as a valuable teaching moment about the importance of being mentally tough
