Vote for education not ideology! Don’t fall for the PC rhetoric that they stand for implementing “parental rights” in our schools if re-elected. In 35 years of teaching I can’t remember a time when my schools didn’t have great two way communication with our parent community.
A huge thank you to PTTA’s Carla Bouchard who chose to step down this year after looking after the interests of all teachers in MB as a member of the Px for the past 4 years. The time sacrificed away from family looking after the interests of your colleague is hugely appreciated!
Congratulations Jon! Keep up the good fight. As teachers enter an era of provincial contracts, questionable registry legislation, and upcoming changes to education funding, moving forward, we will need leaders who have the experience and vision that you continue to show.

A great candidate for what is likely to continue to be a tough political landscape as teachers continue to hammer out a provincial collective agreement as well as upcoming in the funding formula. Four years as VP and very politically astute. MTS will remain in good hands!
Excellent opinion piece on Education Funding in today’s Free Press written by Marcela Cabezas president of Louis Riel Teachers’ Association
