The Caballero Creek Park Project in Tarzana is coming along nicely! The project will convert a 1.5-acre underutilized lot into a multiple-benefit park at the convergence of the #LosAngelesRiver and #CaballeroCreek. It will be the first self-sustaining park in #LA.

Last week, we hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Haynes Street Greenway Project along with 4 incredible speakers:
⭐ Councilmember @bobblumenfield
⭐ @lacitysan Principal Civil Engineer Michael Scaduto
⭐ Bureau of Engineering Chief Dep. City Engineer Deborah Weintraub
⭐ Community Member Bob Akre
The Haynes Street Greenway is a Measure W municipal project, which began construction in March 2024. The project is located on a City-owned 5,000-square-foot parcel at 19941 Haynes Street in #WoodlandHills, adjacent to the #LARiver. In response to community concerns about the vacant property being an eyesore, LASAN initiated two community workshops to gather feedback on how the parcel could be reimagined. Residents shared their desire for a green, safe, and accessible space. Concepts discussed included walking paths, native landscaping, and decorative gates.
Last Monday's unveiling brought all the concepts to life for this vibrant and engaged community.

Sgt Shiou Deng, a devoted 26 year veteran of the @LAPDHQ, tragically lost his life while selflessly aiding motorists involved in a crash. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, and honor his commitment to public service. May he rest in peace.
The right to peaceful protest is a cornerstone of our democratic republic and it’s incredible to see so many Angelenos come out to #NoKingsDay events throughout the city. To all residents making their voice heard- stay loud, stay peaceful and continue standing up to injustice.
These were elected leaders who did nothing but try to bring positive change to their communities. This political violence needs to stop and my heart goes out to their families.
The assassination of Minnesota Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, as well as the attack on Sen. John Hoffman and his wife are beyond shocking. What we know is that a man impersonating an officer entered their homes and shot them.

Does a US Senator trying to ask a question to the DHS Secretary warrant physical assault? We can only imagine how they are treating people regardless of immigration status behind closed doors. Thank you @SenAlexPadilla for continuing to stand up for our city.
California Sen. Alex Padilla was forced to the ground and handcuffed by members of the U.S. Secret Service and FBI after interrupting a Los Angeles press conference held by Dept. of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Effective June 10, 8 PM-6 AM.
📍Downtown Los Angeles.
Applies to everyone — limited exceptions, including for emergency and medical personnel, residents, workers & credentialed media.
As LA and our region are seeing unprecedented acts from the federal government—protect yourself and your community by knowing your rights. If you are protesting, don’t give the president the chaotic spectacles he seems to want. Don’t take the bait and stay peaceful.
June is a great time to adopt as LA Animal Services offers fee-waived (June 7 & 8) and reduced adoption fees for dogs, puppies, cats & kittens every weekend this month! Unable to adopt? Foster a dog or cat. Visit any of our six LA City shelters. #LACityPets#Adopt#Foster
