Working meets like the World Championships on the media side is a GRIND. It's 8 days, morning, afternoon, and night. Nobody can go full-speed for the whole time. At the Olympic Trials last year, I took one prelims session off to go play pickleball (and thanks to our amazing team, we didn't miss a beat).

I feel for the commentary teams that don't get that day off. I wonder if NBC/etc have ever considered bringing in a new crew for the last half of the meet to keep them fresh. Go to the bullpen on day 4/5.

@David_Rieder Also means more high profile swimmers would race more events - more eyes on the tv - ie Marchand 2Breast, McKeown and Seto /Hagino/Lochte in the past. Both US and AUS trials don’t have 200 SF. Keep Free and IM at Top 16. Still keep 8 day programme. Just less racing for the stars
