It’s Saturday night and I’m having a Lunchables for dinner, while watching a Mary Tyler Moore rerun. Lest you worry about how far I’ve fallen since the wild days of yore, you should know that I sprang for the one that includes a cookie. Cause that’s just how I roll. 😎
Folks my age. If you weren't feeling old yet, I just got a notice that there is an 80's music festival in August called Retromania. Retro. If that wasn't sobering enough, it's in Branson. Retromania in Branson. That's what the days of my misspent youth have come down to. Sigh.
Taking the new iPhone 15 out for a spin and grabbed this shot. Nobody appeared to be coming or going, so I'm not sure why the trunk was open, but I thought it made an interesting image.
Victory is mine, victory is mine! lol. My computer desktop is clear of all loose files, and I'm at inbox zero on e-mail. So tonight I bask on the throne of glory, celebrating my triumph while they write songs about my exploits. Or I could tackle the 20-some open browser tabs :-)
Another quick image on Route 66 in Lebanon MO that I made as a low light test with some new equipment. Hoping to get really familiar with everything before I head back out on a couple short trips.

When I'm testing or getting familiar with something new, I'll often do another version of an older image to use as a comparison. So here's another shot of the Munger Moss motel on Rt. 66. I went out right after sunset to try out a low light image.
I was… https://t.co/WxTaE7vJ0R
I grabbed this shot a few days back, intending to use as a black and white, but I needed something for a color-grading demo. This file was handy so I grabbed it, and it turns out I kind dig this version and haven’t even tried a b/w yet. I might never get… https://t.co/Ntnlk4AumG
After a talk to college art students one asked “Photography has changed so much since the turn of the century, where do you see it going in the future?” Half finished answering before I realized they meant the year 2000, not 1900. I’m sure I looked like an idiot at that point.
@rodemics Tried mine out today - works great, liking it so far but the Rode Central Mac version doesn't show units connected. Other mics show up fine. Had to use the iOS app to set up and it worked great. (although text is kinda hard to read with old eyes. lol)
Another place on my "go back and shoot again" list, is Missouri's smallest bank opened in 1910 in Long Lane, MO. This was just a snapshot with an iPhone 4 from about 11 years ago. I don't think I'll find a "hang on an art gallery wall" level image, but i… https://t.co/aHikoRF4Tj
Took this a couple days ago while wandering around. I thought the white car against the white building might be interesting, but then decided I liked the bright blue sky added to the scene. #backroads#explore#smalltown#oldbuilding https://t.co/ki3DKK60HT
Sometimes I think a better approach to life might be to stop trying to be smart, and instead start trying to not be dumb. Today I'm not sure either approach worked for me. :-)
What started as a “get a lot of things done today” type of day has morphed into a “fuck it, what’s on Netflix” kind of day. Lol. Good thing there’s (hopefully) a tomorrow. :-)
Another image from a different angle at Gary's Gay Parita, a restored gas station and garage on old Route 66 just west of Springfield Missouri. A great place to spend an afternoon wandering around.

This is a cliche shot, but every time I scroll through my library it catches my eye for some reason. I’ll often explain that when looking at photos (mine and others) I’m not so concerned with if it’s good or bad, but is it interesting? I don’t think this… https://t.co/jK5LxqwVHl
A couple weeks back I got to spend another day wandering down the old Route 66 in Missouri and stopped at one of my favorite place again. This was taken at Gary’s Gay Parita, at 1930’s era restored gas station west of Springfield, MO. Lots of interesting… https://t.co/TuwayvyRKO
