Andy Burnham is talking about Makerfield like it's been let down by consecutive MPs.
Makerfield has been in Labour hands for 43 years
What does that tell you about Burnham.
Party before country
Self before party
THEY HAVE A LABOUR MP
Get Labour out π₯
@MyArrse@NaqviMA Survation conducted a new poll of theMakerfield constituency!
Fieldwork was conducted by telephone among 518 adults in the constituency between 26th May and 1st June 2026!

@RobKenyonReform The Green Party recognizes the basic relationship between population numbers and housing demand
Their platform emphasizes that current housing crises are heavily driven by prioritizing luxury apartments and the failure to build adequate social housing to resolve housing shortages
*Shocking, Reform UK's Robert Kenyon again refuses to apologise for insulting Carol Vorderman, and doubles down* #BBCQT
Sarah Wakefield, "I spoke to Carol Vorderman this morning, she's really distressed that you, Robert Kenyon, have failed to apologise for any of these comments"
Fiona Bruce, "What, about her specifically?"
Sarah Wakefield, "About her specifically. She is watching at home tonight. And I wonder if you can look down that camera and say to Carol, you know what Im sorry"
Robert Kenyon, "You know what.. I never said anything to Carol. I commented on a comment"
"Don't get me wrong it was a disgusting comment that someone else had written, but I commented on a comment"
Fiona Bruce, "With approval?"
Robert Kenyon, 'Pardon?"
Fiona Bruce, "With approval?"
Robert Kenyon, "It was a crass joke, its not something I'd say now"
Sarah Wakefield, "Every woman in this room and at home has been subjected to shaming, in person or online"
Robert Kenyon, "That's disgusting, it's horrible"
Sarah Wakefield, "He's just proven my point. Can you believe this?"
"We have all been subjected to it, and the fact that a man like you cannot apologise, I think is disgraceful"
Robert Kenyon, "I've addressed the issue"
Sarah Wakefield, "On tope of that, Reform UK's policies on women are shocking"
"Reform on day one want to repeal the Equality Act"
Robert Kenyon, "No, no, that's absolute nonsense"
Sarah Wakefield, "That's Reform UK's party policy"
"I can't believe as a mum of a young daughter, I'm having to sit here in 2026, and make the case for me and my daughter to have the right to equal pay"
Robert Kenyon, "No no"
Sarah Wakefield, "This is what the Reform party stand for"
"They are a party that has a problem with women"
"And they need to sort it out"
Robert Kenyon, "No no"
*audience erupts in applause*
@harriet_symonds We all know..
Josh Simons, a Labour MP who dramatically stood down in May 2026 to trigger a by-election, allowing Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham to use Makerfield as a stepping stone to return to Westminster! π€·ββοΈ
BREAKING: Andy Burnham has announced he will challenge Keir Starmer for the Labour leadership if he wins the Makerfield by-election.
Labour figures already fuming. Could this backfire?
Labour MP texts: βThereβs no way Iβm going to Makerfield now, good luck to the whips!β
Labour source texts: βAndy Burnham ran for leader in 2010 and lost. He ran for leader in 2015 and lost. He has spent the last two years undermining this Labour government at every opportunity in pursuit of his goal of becoming Labour leader. To suggest heβs only running because of Wes is an insult to everyone with a modicum of intelligence.β
@jamescl25847951@ZackPolanski Surveys, including polling by Survation for Patriotic Millionaires UK, regularly reveal that a strong majority of UK millionaires actually support progressive taxation to fund public services and combat inequality! π€·ββοΈ
I'm so proud of Sarah and the Green Party.
When the 50 wealthiest families in the UK own more wealth than the bottom 50% of the population - don't tell us there's no money left.
Let's keep growing our movement:

A first in UK history.
Please RT this until this travesty of justice is ended.
Thank you.
@PeterStefanovi2 Of course he is! π€·ββοΈ

Sarah Wakefield (the Greens candidate in Makerfield): "The fundamental problem we have.. is that we're building on 40yrs of deindustrialisation topped off by 15yrs of austerity.. we're all feeling it.. we should be looking at the massive inequality in this country.."
Iβm getting sick and tired of Keir Starmer and other left-wing politicians cherry-picking one segment of the Nowak familyβs statement about not wanting this to cause further division in an attempt to silence political opponents through guilt.
That isnβt all the Nowak family said.
They also said that Henry was treated differently by the police to Vickrum Digwa. They also said they wanted the Kirpan banned along with all other knives.
Starmer has respected neither of those wishes. He has denied that two-tier policing exists and refused to support banning the Kirpan.
So please donβt start lecturing other politicians about respecting the familyβs wishes when you are not doing so yourself.
@WestminsterWAG Using Holocaust imagery to score political points against modern politicians is a deeply controversial practice!
It draws heavy criticism from those who feel it weaponizes Jewish history!
Shame on you!
Sarah Wakefield, the Green candidate in the Makerfield by-election, is on Question Time tonight.
Before then, watch her champion a #WealthTax, thriving high streets, and protection for the green belt.
For hope with a plan - vote Green
Thank you very much to the Independent for including me in this year's Pride List.
Great to be at the event hosted by the wonderful @QueerBritain! π³οΈββ§οΈπ³οΈβπ
