@AcunaEnjoyerr@KrimsonKroc@Pastor_Jody@grantcohn 1) BA said it was he who refused to play - he wasn't going to play without his guarantees 2) 49ers can't release BA until he is on the roster 3) June 1st is irrelevant, if he was on the roster 49ers could have released him in March with post June 1 designation.
@grantcohn@Pastor_Jody You don’t get a misseamnor warrant for going 2 mph over limit. Also why would the 49ers try to get the warrant issued. It only puts pressure on BA to come to Santa Clara making it easier for him to report N get released.
@SulligentHUB The decision to sign him, at the end of the day, was an emotional one. If you don't learn from your mistakes, you are only going to repeat them. The non-emotional move is as you describe.
@TylerCLaRocca Don't understand why some think his typed posts are good for him. Even the typed post call others out and do not help his cause. He should talk to an agent and the NFLPA privately and communicate through proper channels so that he, to the extent he still can, get what he wants.
@seanilling The fact that youth sports are expensive is not limited to soccer. Same is true of baseball, basketball, football, swimming, etc. Where to you draw the line?
@dave_from_dc@DannyG_49 No, I said that others said that the 9ers were bullied and that is not true. It is structured as a year to year deal and that he could be traded after the 1st year without much financial risk.
@grantcohn Does it matter after BA's post today? He said he wouldn't play if his 2026 guarantees were not reinstated. It wasn't the 9ers decision. It was BA's.
@DannyG_49 I think they already knew who he was and were willing to tolerate it for another run. My guess is that we have only heard a small portion of the antics. To me, the 2021 "doghouse" saga now makes total sense.
@TylerCLaRocca Just can't see making a SB run with that defense. I would take the $27M in cap savings you were moving on from anyway and who obviously has some issues everyday of the week.
@TylerCLaRocca I didn't say that. 9ers by their offseason in 2025 made it clear they were not all in for the SB, and they weren't going to get there with that roster BA or not. Add all the injuries on top and it is not a close call. It was the correct decision to not give the guarantees back
@grantcohn What 9ers did in the 2025 offseason made it clear that they weren't all in for a SB run last year. BA would not have made a difference. Also, the BA deal was a year to year deal N 9ers could have traded him after year 1 with only paying him $24M, which I think was the plan.
@richjmadrid_ Whether that is true or not nobody knows. However, the narrative that it was the 49ers decision not to play Aiyuk last year is contradicted by BA's post. It was his decision not to play.
@richjmadrid_ 9ers were clear that voiding of guarantees was in July in November. They didn't say anything before November. I think what he means is that he told them he wasn't going to play unless the guarantees were reinstated N the 49ers still were saying he is close to coming back.
