I just had a Trump voter come up to me at Circle K and say:

“I’m sorry.”

I honestly had no idea what they meant, so I said:

“Excuse me?”

They looked at me and said:

“I used to hate you because you were always attacking Trump.”

Then they paused.

“Now I hate myself for defending him.”

That one caught me off guard.

I told them they shouldn’t hate themselves for changing their mind.

They said:

“I just wish I had seen it sooner.”

Politics has become so tribal that people feel like changing their mind means admitting defeat.

It doesn’t.

Sometimes changing your mind just means you finally stopped defending a politician and started thinking for yourself.
