@RuthDavidsonPC I believe @_KateForbes spoke with clarity, conviction, courage and compassion - she showed great integrity - yet was met with a torrent of abuse and intolerance. I’m quite sure that whilst her campaign is something she holds dear, there is something even more precious to her.
@revlornascot It is perfectly reasonable for @_KateForbes to state that an orthodox or traditional Christian view of marriage is that it is exclusively between one man and one woman. It is simply *untrue* for you to suggest that the ‘Anglican Communion’ has voted otherwise. @BBCNews@synod
Praying for all at General Synod today.
Praying that Psalm 119 would be an encouragement and inspiration: may God’s word be a lamp for your feet, a light on your path (v.105).
Might that be true of all who lead in the CofE: scripture before culture. 🙏🏻

@bethanyrutter Not alarmed at all.
“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.” Gen. 9:13
“This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” Lk. 22:20
Praying for the Queen - a woman of faith, secure in Christ.
Great interview on @UCBNewsTeam this morning featuring my colleague and friend Victor Akhterov speaking about the ongoing radio ministry in Ukraine - broadcasting hope in the face of conflict. Please do have a listen, and visit @Feba_UK website for more info.
The gospel is changing the lives of people in #Ukraine. That's according to a Christian radio ministry @Feba_UK, which has continued broadcasting in the country during the war with Russia. Listen: https://t.co/ju7IcDpvYp
Revelation 1
@jer4096 (31/7/21)
Revelation is a prophecy of powerful images, and a letter relevant for all churches for all time.
Our response? V.3: read it, hear it, take it to heart.
Our attitude to scripture (incl. Rev.) should be expectancy, interest, concern.

An enormous and heartfelt ‘Thank You!’ to everyone who made ‘Virtually Keswick Convention’ possible - it’s been a great week for the whole family. Very much looking forward to Convention 2021.
Whatever the year might bring, we have HOPE!

Romans 5
Justification leads to hope (v.1-2)
Being ‘right with Christ’, all roads lead to hope.
Suffering leads to hope (v.3)
Seasons of pain can produce fruit.
We’d do well to focus on the peace we have as redeemed people - saved by grace.

Psalm 6
We all experience sadness and tears. Ps. 6 brings hope.
vv.1-3: Feel the weight of God’s wrath
vv.4-7: Weep for sins - as David and Jesus did
vv.8-10: Be sure of freedom from sin
When Christ returns, He will banish sin forever!

Psalm 5
vv.9-10: There is no truth in the world around us.
We depend on God to be a righteous judge.
vv.11-12: A place of safety and joy.
To be a Christian is not to be better than others; is to recognise our need to take refuge in Christ.

Psalm 5
vv.1-3: David is going to pray.
Prepared, prayed, and waited on God.
vv.4-6: God doesn’t delight in evil.
David himself was guilty, as am I.
vv7-8: God’s steadfast and abundant love.
We can only enter God’s presence through Christ.

v.7 What God has done/provided surpasses the ‘good things of life’ (eg. food, drink, home, job, family, holidays...). The joy we can have in Jesus Christ - as his children - is far greater. Only God can give assurance of safety that enabled David to sleep.

Psalm 4
Four key things that cause us to be angry - in Bible times and now:
* Control (I don’t like being controlled)
* Possessions (I want it now!)
* Sexual delight (I have a right to it)
* Reputation (I have an image to maintain)
@KeswickC #KesConv20
We will get angry - but shouldn’t sin. Rather, ponder.
Jesus himself did this: set himself apart, prayed, sought the Father’s help. We’d do well to learn and practice the discipline of setting ourselves apart to be with our Heavenly Father - trusting Him.
