@thefreightnerd Fleet size won’t matter in the long run. It’ll be ability to show credible and clean data about your safety practices (hiring, maintenance, etc). The good news is that software is out there and it’s getting cheaper every day. Fleets just need to care.

“I think anybody who’s a truck driver today could realistically remain a truck driver for their entire career. I don’t believe the kind of overnight change people talk about is actually coming. Even the long-term autonomous vision I’ve discussed over the next 20 years won’t apply to every freight move or every lane.

Trucking is incredibly varied. You’re dealing with different freight types, weather conditions, locations, customers, and operating environments. Because of that complexity, I genuinely believe drivers will continue to play a major role in the industry for a long time.

What I do think will change is the logistics industry itself.
