At last! Nearly 50 years after my Mercury column first called for a Tassie team in the AFL/VFL. Since then gutless, parochial politicians and selfish, short-sighted AFL officials killed off local footy by letting Hawthorn loot our state. Shame on you. Hope it's not too late.

Thrilled with Coalition victory ... but not how it was achieved. Just when Tassie was unifying the Libs - as usual - couldn't resist reviving old north-south jealousies over AFL team and MONA to win votes. The end may justify the means, but hasn't helped our AFL bid! #taspolitics
